I was going to get some sweet shots of John. Nope. “Too professional” they said. However, it forced me to just enjoy John from the 7th row and a cheesy BlackBerry camera phone. This is the best I could do.. but I sure enjoyed every sweaty minute at Cricket Pavillion in August.

Our friendship started almost 2 years ago when she emailed me (as a faithful blog follower) to ask my advice for wedding makeup. We exchanges a few emails and it was then that I discovered her first artistic trade, Silver Spoon Studios, a custom graphic design concept. As I searched Silver Spoon Studios, my eye caught another site connected to that one that she also launched called SpirituallyShe. Of course, anything Christian-ish catches my eye and I find myself on THAT site and LOVE it too! Months passed and we finally scheduled a lunch date where we discussed photography, and BAM… look at her now. I believe this is her fifth site, not to mention her professional modeling career… geez girl. Why can’t you be an average achiever like the rest of us. This artsy craze has really taken us Michael’s store fanatics by storm. Though I have never gotten into it (I’m too cheap)… these are some of the most creative and edgy layouts I’ve ever seen. I love Allyson’s use of color, textures, vintage fabrics and papers. She makes it look so easy, but even my creative mind begs for a Xanax after thinking about creative even one of these pages. Always have. My favorites are the original gangstas… the tight booths with the curtain and and no fair warning as to when the blinding flash is gonna blow, followed by still wet from the formula, black and white strips of 4 coming out of the slot. I first talked my sweet, 8 months pregnant friend, Rene to party with me in the booth….
Then, my husband. I didn’t even have to ask twice! (That’s my P!nk pose) Something tells me that if I had any less restraint, I would have taken 10 more. That’s why God gave me Chance. (He’s cute isn’t, he?)

The email was sweet, transparent, and in the best sense of the word: desperate. I use that word not in it’s derogatory form, but in it’s glory. She was desperate for answers and desperate to know God’s truth. She had followed my photography blog, which had once linked to my little heart child, my PEARLS ministry. This ministry was God-breathed and created through many trials of my own, suffering from many of the issues young women face. From body image to immorality, I was a top notch ball of confusion and discontent. It wasn’t until I really understood the truth about who God is and what Christ has done that I was healed, cured, released and saved from my downward spiraling self.  Purity and identity in Christ are now my most favorite topics, bringing me to whoever will listen to what God’s perfect truth says about these things. Needless to say, Steph and I had a 3.5 hour coffee date one afternoon… just talking about life and the battles of being a girl sometimes, constantly comparing ourselves to the left and right. We had an immediate connection, both spiritually and professionally, so I invited her to come to a shoot with me! Here are a few shots she snagged of me shooting!! I’m demonstrating.
