I had a brief (sleeping Sway baby) moment to upload a few shots from the hospital of the most life changing last few days. In a nutshell, labor and delivery were amazing and successful.

I am happy to announce that I will be on official maternity leave until the beginning of March! I have started booking for the Spring, so don’t hesitate to email with booking inquiries… BUT, you won’t get me, you’ll get Amy, my amazing assistant. She will take care of you from there!

If you are interested in a family photo session between now and March and would like to book a session with my amazing assistant, Amy, she is available and booking sessions. For all other weddings, high school seniors and other portrait sessions that would like to book with me will resume in March.

Flash Courses are still available and the first available date is currently May of 2012. They are 1 full day sessions and you can find all the information on the official Flash Course website: www.KaceyLuviFlashCourse.com

You’d be hard-pressed to find two sweeter boys than Michael and Ryan.  They are helpers, givers, hard-workers, and they are already learning to have “happy hearts” and choose joy at a young age.  Their parents have taught them to value experiences more than things, others more than self, and God above all else.  I’m so thankful for the example of my aunt and uncle.  They are an amazing family who are bright lights in their community.

I’ll be photographing their extended family in a few weeks so here’s a preview until then.

This one, Brittni… what a doll! Her and her mom came to our hotel room for hair and makeup first, and spread the wardrobe out on the bed (glamorous, huh?). Lynne, Britt’s mom was gracious enough to be calling places throughout our session to see if we could get into a few private locations… and thanks to her, we did! Brittni is a softball player (among other things)… a pitcher, to be exact. So, with Lynne’s help, we got into the fields I used to play on in junior high and high school! It was a fun trip down memory lane. We also got into a public pool outside business hours to photograph her in her lifeguard gear! This is so cute! She should be the poster life guard girl!! Don’t mind me trying to get myself at the perfect angle so you can see my baby bump!

I endured the week with a can of OFF in one hand and a camera in the other. Amidst these treacherous conditions, I found beauty… which made it all worth it. Iowa and South Dakota are unique and beautiful, as are the people that inhabit their land. Time after time, I am stunned at what I am able to experience in photographing people. The personalities, the wardrobes, the querky-ness… I embrace it all. I simply love people and all of their ridiculousness.

Growing up in LA, Jobey has always had a love for sports and always brought me right along with him into his card collecting hobby… I just wanted the stick of gum. Now his family LOVES following the Dodgers—even all the way to AZ for spring training this year! It’s fun to see how little these boys are, but how they know so many of the players names! My favorite part of the spring training game this year was watching them yell and fist pump “CHARGE!” and sing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” at the top of their lungs. So fun!
